GoFundMe Social Experiment – Affordable Housing

Posted on Posted in Home and Family, Projects

Orlando is a very diverse area with many people in transition and entry level jobs. This makes the need for affordable housing tremendous. As a social experiment, I created this campaign to see how we can all give back to our neighbors by providing an affordable house for a good family. The goal of this campaign is to raise $10,000 to put towards the renovation of a property  I’m working on in Apopka.

Whatever amount I raise will be used to renovate the house. How will this give back? I will REDUCE the sales price of the house by the equivalent amount donated!

This property was a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home that I am converting into a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. It will have a new kitchen and 2 fully renovated bathrooms plus the addition of a laundry closet. This property will be listed for sale at $150,000 once complete. That means if we reach our goal of $10,000, we will reduce the final sale price to $140,000 for the buyer or by whatever amount we raise.

Once this campaign generates $2,500 in donations, I will post picture updates of the progress.

Thanks for reading this and hope you can help a family in need of a home. If successful, we hope to continue to do this as long as we can find a house to renovate in an affordable area.
